Not Everyone Uses Social Media

As more businesses move their advertising to Facebook and other social media platforms, it's easy to forget that many older homeowners never see those posts.
Recently, a local Realtor contacted us about a client who was looking to remodel her bathroom & Kitchen. During our conversation, he mentioned something that really stuck with us.
She doesn't use social media.
Like many seniors, most of the remodeling advertisements she sees are on television. Naturally, she assumed those were her only options.
The reality is that many excellent local contractors don't advertise on national TV. Instead, they rely on referrals, community relationships, local newspapers, home shows, and word of mouth.
If you have a parent, grandparent, neighbor, or friend who mentions wanting to remodel their kitchen, bathroom, or make their home safer to age in place, consider helping them explore all of their options.
You can help by:
Asking friends or neighbors for recommendations.
Looking up reviews for local contractors.
Visiting local showrooms together.
Talking with local Realtors, who often know reputable contractors.
Helping them compare estimates instead of calling the first company they see on television.
At Durian Builders, we've learned that many of our favorite clients come to us through referrals from family members, friends, and Realtors. We believe every homeowner deserves to know all of their options before making an important investment in their home.
If you know someone considering a remodel but they're not active online, we'd be happy to answer questions, provide a free consultation, and help them understand what's possible—without any pressure.
Sometimes the best resource isn't another commercial.
It's someone you trust.
